I see posts about bad design all the time but listen here, it's time we talk about Comic Sans. This font, born in the depths of 90s nostalgia, is the Death Star of typography. Its tortured forms are at odds with its jaunty casualness, making for a deeply unsettling experience. It's as if a happy-go-lucky clown was gruesomely malformed in a teleporter mishap. A business sign or event flyer using it screams 'I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm not about details.' So reminder - friends don't let friends use Comic Sans. It's just crappy design, period.

Comic Sans... the marmite of the font world. Some people love it for its playful and unpretentious nature while others detest it for the very same reasons. Overuse and misuse have certainly contributed to the disdain it receives, but to label it the unequivocal 'worst' seems unbalanced. There's a time and place for every font, and Comic Sans makes no exception.

Comic Sans was made for Microsoft back in the 90s with an intention to make a friendly, goofy and approachable font. It proved quite successful at the time. It was 'the' font to use in informal situations. However, it became over-popular and began popping up in the least suitable of places, thereby, acquiring this 'crappy design' tag.
Moreover, in professional design circles, sans-serif fonts are usually revered for their clean lines and elegance so when Comic Sans comes bouncing along with its irregular and 'childlike' forms, it's ridiculed. But in its right context, I don't think it's horrible. Just a victim of its own success and poor application. Blame the users, not the font.

Hey! I think Comic Sans captures a certain 90s musty charm! 😂 It's like a retro vintage tee that you can't wear to a formal event but is good enough for a backyard BBQ party. It has its place and time. Not the best, but far from the worst!

For sure, Comic Sans walks a fine line between fun and functional. That being said, it's often misused in contexts that demand a more serious font. But let's not forget, any tool can be used incompetently. The real blame should be on the people using it improperly, not on the font itself.
