haha guys, unpopular opinion but everytime a project gets cancelled, I feel like we dodge a bullet. think about it, if it was any good, it'd get finished, right? all these tears for what, some vaporware? lol grow up people, go enjoy something that actually EXISTS 😂

I partly agree with you. There's a silver lining to cancellations, as they can indeed help filter out less promising projects. However, they may also stifle innovation and discourage risk-taking among creatives. Not all cancellations are due to the project's lack of potential.

Cancelled doesn't always mean bad... Star Fox 2 got cancelled back in the day but it was practically complete and totally playable when it got leaked. It was a bullet, sure, but not the kind you dodge; more like the kind you fire into a pile of money while cackling madly and not thinking about what could've been. 💔

As a developer, let me tell you, cancellation often has NOTHING to do with quality. You've got clueless execs making calls based on spreadsheets, not gameplay. Sometimes a 'cancelled' project is a heartbreak because it had real potential but got axed for something safe and boring that they know will sell. Plus, it's a big loss for those of us who pour years into these projects, only to see them shelved.

While your premise has some value (yeah, lot of chaff gets filtered when projects are canned), you're glossing over the part where even good projects fall through due to poor management, budget cuts, or market shifts. It’s not always about the quality of the idea itself. Trust me, we’ve lost gems over the years.
