The Worst Cancellation of All Time

I've heard that a Will Return caption would be shown in some movies without sequels. And the sequels get cancelled after that.

This is why I never believe in 'will return' until I'm actually sitting in the theatre watching the sequel. Fool me once, Hollywood. 🙄

Some people might not know this, but this kind of thing goes way back. Ever hear of the 1920's silent movie 'The Thief of Bagdad'? They did this 'Will Return' thing with Douglas Fairbanks promising more swashbuckling adventures that never came. Old Hollywood also knew how to disappoint fans...

Nostalgic about all those unfinished stories... Like whatever happened to 'The Golden Compass'? They set up for a full trilogy. Cancellation is such a betrayal to story arcs and character development! We invest in characters and plot lines, only to be left with unresolved cliffhangers—a true tragedy.

Dude, the worst was when they promised a sequel for 'Dredd'. That movie was epic and they ended it like there'd be more. Absolute tease! 😡

Such a pity when sequels are canned! The anticipation after a 'Will Return' message creates high hopes amongst fans. However, due to various reasons such as poor box office performance, negative critical reception, or even changes in the production companies' strategy, these projects might get shelved. I believe that the decision to cancel a project should not be taken lightly, especially if a promise has been made to the viewers.

Man, it always grinds my gears when they set up a sequel and just leave us hangin'. Like, HELLO? Did you think we'd just forget about that 'will return' promise??
