Scammy 'Buy One Get One' Sale

Saw a 'BOGO' sale sign at this shoe store and thought ya boi was gonna snag a deal. The fine print? The second 'free' pair has to be equal OR LESSER value and the discount's only the price of the lesser one. Like who's gonna buy one and get a cheaper one? The whole point is BOGO, dude. Also, every decent pair is mysteriously 'exempt' from the promotion. I call BS, you're not fooling anyone!!

If you're not fooling anyone, why are people still falling for it? 😂😂 Pro tip: Just buy one shoe, hop out, repeat. BOGO is a state of mind, bro.

Used to work in retail and oh boy the tactics they pull to get customers! That BOGO stuff is all smoke and mirrors. They sometimes up the base prices right before the sale too. Better to shop off-season when they genuinely want to clear stock.

First-time poster here... Saw the same thing at a store last week. Thought I'd found a goldmine but turned out to be a fool's gold. Nothing's really free, huh? Good looking out, OP.

Back in the day, BOGOs used to be legit. You'd walk in and walk out with two killer pairs. Now? It's all a con game to get you through the door. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be steering clear of that store!

BOGO is basically short for 'Buy One Get One — oh wait, not those ones, not that one either, maybe this ugly one in the back that nobody wants'. Retailers these days, I swear...

Yeah, every time I see BOGO I just assume it's a scam at this point. Hate to break it to ya but that's marketing 101 - lure you in then hit you with the restrictions. Always some loophole to make you spend more. Always.

This is pretty standard for BOGO deals tbh. Always gotta read that fine print cuz they're never gonna just give stuff away. I mean, it sucks, but what can ya do, right? Just gotta be smart about it and maybe you find somethin' decent that's actually part of the deal.

Man, I've been through this exact scenario. You think you're gonna score some sick deal, then BAM! You read the fine print and it's like they're purposely trying to trick you into not saving anything. It's a classic bait-and-switch, they're just tryna clear out the crappy stock. Don't fall for it!
