Just tried to cancel a subscription...

and holy hell, why do they make it SO HARD TO FIND THE CANCEL BUTTON? It's like Where's Waldo up in here but instead of finding a quirky guy in stripes, I'm just trying not to get charged another month for a service I don't even use anymore! Scrolling for ages, hidden under 'Account Settings' then 'Manage Subscriptions' then a tiny link at the bottom?? C'mon, that's just being a dick on purpose.

Sometimes it's easier to just email or call customer service to cancel. It's a pain, but less of a headache than a never-ending treasure hunt.

this is the kind of crap that should be ILLEGAL. seriously, we should just start a movement against these shady practices, start calling out businesses that do this, because it's such a scam!!!

They're all in on it, honestly. It's like a big club, and we ain't in it. They are making those 'cancel' buttons as rare as a unicorn just so they can milk more money out of us until we just give up or forget!

Ever noticed how it's just one click to sign up, but to cancel it's like hacking the mainframe? Coincidence? I think not.

Alright, listen up. It's a dark pattern, a UX design purposely made to trick you into not cancelling. Companies use it bc it works, unfortunately. There's actually laws in some places against it, so if it's too hidden, you could report them. In the meantime, a pro-tip is to search directly in the help or FAQ for 'cancel subscription' to find instructions or a direct link.

UGH, been there. It's like they do it on purpose so you miss the date and get charged AGAIN. I swear they hide the button every time I look for it, the next time it's under some other obscure menu???
