They know what they're doing with those updates..

Don't get me started on software updates that kill your device. My phone was FINE until that fateful 'performance improvement' update. Then BAM, it's slower than my grandma's typewriter. Coincidence? Nah, they're just pushing us to buy the newest model. Welcome to planned obsolescence, my friends.

I mean, I get the frustration but are we sure it's always deliberate? Sometimes an update might not be optimized for every device out there, or there's some real improvement under the hood we don't notice. Maybe give it some time before jumping to conclusions? Although, I do agree that communication from these companies could be a heck of a lot better.

This is why I haven’t updated my phone in years. It ain't broke, and I ain't about to ‘fix’ it with their so-called updates. I’ll ride this phone out until it literally falls apart in my hands. No new models for me, thank you very much.

Don't even get me started on this. I've had this happen too many times. What's billed as bug fixes and performance improvements is often a thinly-veiled excuse to slow down older models and make us envious of the latest release. My tablet was absolutely decimated by the last update. Battery life? Gone. Speed? Non-existent. It's deliberate, has to be. And the worst part, they act like they're doing you a favor. 'Here, enjoy these new emojis'—as if that's supposed to make up for the fact that my device now takes eons to open an app. It's manipulative and it's about time more people called it out.

I totally ignore updates these days unless it's some major security thing. You just can't trust them. It's like they're designed to mess up your device. Not falling for it!

Oh I’m sure it's just a happy accident for them when our devices turn to bricks after an update. And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you. They’ve been doing this for ages! If you ask me, the whole tech industry is rigged. Beware the updates!

Not surprised at all. Been in the tech game long enough to see this pattern over and over. Companies are always looking for ways to increase sales, and what better way than to nudge us to the newer model by making the old ones unbearable to use? Planned obsolescence is real and it's infuriating. Makes me miss the days when you bought a device and it actually lasted. Look up 'Right to Repair' movement, fight back against these practices by supporting legislation and businesses that let you keep your tech running longer without the need for expensive upgrades.

Honestly, this is why I'm scared to update anything anymore. It's like playing Russian roulette with your device's performance. You never know if you're gonna hit the update that makes your phone crawl at a snail's pace. It's total B.S. but what can you do, they've got us cornered.

Oh, a 'performance improvement' update that makes your phone worse? Color me shocked. It's just their sneaky way of saying 'you've been a great customer, now please fork over another grand for our latest shiny gadget'. So generous of them.
