Printers continue to be the bane of the modern tech world. Pro tip: Go paperless as much as you can and use digital signatures for documents. Save yourself from the hair-pulling frustration of printer logic because they sure aren't designed with any common sense in mind.

To understand why this happens, it's essential to know that many printers use a process called 'composite black' for certain tones and shades. It's not just about pure black from the black cartridge; they mix in tiny amounts of other colors to achieve depth and warmth in printouts. So, when yellow runs low, the printer can't create the necessary composite black, and it stops to prevent inadequate print quality. It's frustrating design over user convenience.

It's all a scheme to get us to buy more ink, my dude. I'm telling you, printers are at the center of a global conspiracy to make us shell out big bucks for tiny cartridges. Bet the yellow ink is sitting there, laughing at you while you lose your mind. Keep your eyes open, the truth is out there.

Hey, tech enthusiast here. Printer manufacturers use a combination of colors to create a richer black, hence why they require color even for 'black-only' prints. It's infuriating but true. A workaround is using grayscale printing which is an option in many printer settings, but even then, some printers are just set up to be a pain unless they have some of every color. If you can't find a fix, consider investing in a black and white laser printer for just B&W documents to save on color ink costs.
