This ain't new, sonny. It reminds me of those rogue dial-up days when every click could land you a nasty virus. But just like we learned our lessons then, same applies now. Pick your apps wisely, keep an antivirus active, and use a bit of common sense before you give away all permissions to a Candy Crush clone. Use them tech smarts.

There's no doubt about the fact that we have struggled with malicious applications on Google Play Store in the past. Cybercriminals are evolved and they often deploy sophisticated techniques to bypass Google's security checks. Cases of mobile malware disguised as benign applications are not unheard of. This malware is designed to perform unauthorized activities without user consent. Examples could be clicking on ads without the user’s knowledge, stealing personal and financial information, encrypting files (ransomware), and so on. But with added safety and security, Google is getting better in catching these malicious apps before they cause any harm to the users.
However, it's crucial that as users, we remain vigilant and adopt safe practices when downloading applications. Only download apps from reputed developers, thoroughly read through the reviews, check app permissions (not all apps need access to your contacts, messaging or camera), keep your devices updated and consider installing a good security software that includes an active malware scanner.
