Updated the app... wish I hadn't

Just updated my fav music app. Now it's got more ads than music. What's worse? Can’t revert to the previous version. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Guess I'll just sit here and enjoy static images of random products between my songs. FML.

Yeah, I feel you. Updated similar app once, was never the same. It’s all about money now. 🙄 Might as well go back old school and listen to CDs.

Haha, maybe the static images are just modern album covers? Try thinking of it as a hipster band's new music video. 🤣 Honestly tho, fuck ads.

Man, that sucks. Which app are you talking about? There might be alternative versions available on the web that haven’t been hit by the ad apocalypse. Some open source communities maintain old versions of apps for this very reason.

Try finding an ad blocker that works with your music app, mate. Some do a pretty nice job. Ain't no need to suffer the advertising plague. Cheers!

There are always ways around it, if you're willing to step off the beaten path... 🏴‍☠️

Free music apps are funded by ads. It's not great for us users, but it's the income model. The costs to run these platforms are high - server space, licensing music, not to mention paying employees. The reason they release these newer versions with more ads is probably because they weren’t making enough money with the older version.

Still, it doesn't justify ruining the user experience. If you're really into the music app you're using, maybe see if there's a paid, ad-free version. It would probably cost less than a coffee per month and would save you a ton of headache.

Bottom line - If you find value in a service, support it. If not, move on to something that better suits your needs.
