Unnecessary App Permissions!

I downloaded a flashlight app, and it asks for access to my contact list. WHY IN ALMIGHTY HECK? If that ain’t an asshole design, IDK what is!

That’s so sketchy! I’d suggest uninstalling it and leaving a review so others know. There are plenty of trusted flashlight apps out there that don’t need any special permissions.

Ahh the sweet smell of data intrusion in the morning, am I right? Who wouldn't want a flashlight app that might send 'accidental' spam texts to all your contacts? Just another day in paradise. 🙄

As others have pointed out, this is a serious issue. Too many apps out there ask for far more permissions than they need, and it's a blatant violation of privacy. They use the info for data harvesting that can be used for stuff like targeted ads. It's disgusting.

Remember: ALWAYS read the permissions that an app is requesting before you install it. If it seems like it's asking for more than it needs, find a different app. Your privacy and personal information is more important than the convenience of a sneaky flashlight, alarm clock, or whatever else app that seems to want your entire life story before it functions.

Glad you noticed the issue and brought it up here!

Ah yes, another app hungering for data it doesn't need. Classic assholedesign. It's more than just annoying, it's a security risk. Remember to always check the permissions before installing anything!

This is actually quite common with shady apps. It's unnecessary and is often a sign that the app has dubious motives. They basically ask for way more permissions than they need to function. This can lead to potential data harvesting, which is pretty much the internet's version of black market organ trading. It's a big issue with privacy and safety. Personally, I always check what permissions an app is asking for before downloading. And flashlight needing contacts access? Definite red flag. There are better apps out there, mate.
