A love story between a vampire and a werewolf, but they're both secretly undercover agents in a supernatural crime unit.

okay so... I just joined this sub and I thought of this story where there’s a vampire and a werewolf, right. They absolutely cannot stand each other, classic stuff, but here's the TWIST - they're both secret agents working for the same supernatural crime division. They have to pretend to be in a relationship to solve a series of mysterious killings that could lead to a supernatural war. They go through this whole frenemies-to-lovers but also professional-partners-to-actual-partners trope. It’s intense, and I've got this whole scene in my head where they're in a high-speed chase and they're arguing about who left the toothpaste cap off back at their safehouse.

tbh just here for the chase scene banter hahaha. 'Who left the toothpaste cap off' lol. Make sure it's as ridiculous as it sounds like would def read just for that.

The concept's intriguing, but what's the background here? What's the history between vamps and werewolves in this world? How common is knowledge of supernaturals among humans? Are there treaties? Alliances? I just love a good rich backstory to sink my teeth into (pun very much intended) 😆

Hey, cool idea. When you write that high-speed chase scene, it might be fun to drop subtle hints about their secret agent skills—like hyper-focused senses during the chase, referencing past missions, or even an unspoken communication thing they've developed. Keeps the tension high and shows rather than tells. Couple things though, make sure their reasons for being agents are solid. Backstory is key with these kinda cross-species relations!

lol, what? They can't stand each other but gotta pretend to be in love? Sounds like my last family reunion. Good luck writing your soap opera. Maybe throw in a zombie ex for kicks.

Hm, okay, the set-up is neat, but if they’re undercover, wouldn’t their superiors have thought about the animosity between species? Seems like a risky move. Unless that's part of the plot and something bigger is at play? Anyway, make sure to flesh out the world-building. If there’s a risk of supernatural war, readers will want to know the politics and history. Otherwise, you're just relying on tropes without giving them substance.

This is a super cool idea for a story! Have you thought about how the vampire and werewolf's abilities would help them in their undercover roles? Like the vamp's mind-reading or the wolf's sniffing out lies? Would be awesome to see how that gives them an edge but also pushes them together because they need each other's skills despite their rivalry.

OMG, I'm obsessed with this concept! The frenemies to lovers trope gets me every time. 😍 Can't wait to see how you play out the high-speed chase scene. Like will there be a moment when one of them has to grab the wheel and they accidentally touch hands?! Ahhh!
