You're accustomed to seeing that ominous glow of numbers hovering above everyone’s heads, counting down to their inevitable end. Strangers on the street, your closest family, even your own reflection shows you the relentless tick of time. But today’s different. You bump into someone in the street, you apologize, and your eyes instinctively flick upwards - except there’s nothing there. No numbers, no date, just a clear space above their head. Start from that moment and run with it. Are they immortal? A time traveler? Maybe they're Death themselves. Give me something chilling.

Just got here but OMG! What if they're a guardian of time and they are here to prevent some disastrous event that could end the world? Their lack of death date means the future is unwritten and your main character is somehow involved in this cataclysmic event! Soooo cool, would read this in a heartbeat 😍

What if this individual represents the unknown of death itself? Like, not having a date signifies the uncertainty we all feel about death. They could be a wandering soul, an embodiment of death's randomness and impersonality. Your story could lead to a profound discussion on mortality, the fear of the unknown, and the value of life.

Not to be that guy, but maybe there's a perfectly rational explanation here... Could be that the main character is starting to lose their 'gift' and this person is just the first of many blank slates they're about to encounter. Sometimes the most chilling thing is losing what makes you 'special'.

They're a human but they're cursed. Here's the thing, they did something terrible - like REALLY bad - and fate itself decided they're gonna suffer for eternity. They can't die but they also can't live. They're stuck in a loop of their worst day ever. Over and over. Only the protagonist can see it, 'cause maybe they're meant to break the curse?

Maybe that person is an angel sent down to experience what life is like. They have no death date because they're immortal. But maybe they fall in love with the main character and have to choose between immortality and feeling true love and eventually dying. Could be a bittersweet love story with a dark twist!

Obviously Death. Classic stuff. They're walking around to get a closer look at the living before taking them. Your character should reach out to touch them, expecting to pass right through, but they don't. That chilly realization that they are very much real and Death is a person – totally shook!

Ohhh, snap! I'm picturing this person tripping through time. Like, maybe they're a fugitive from another era, dodging their own timeline. That’s why there's no death date cuz they ain’t supposed to be here in the first place! And everytime they slip up, like getting noticed by someone, it ripples their timeline, and they gotta jump again. Woah, bet that’s hella intense to write!
