yo wtf is up with Geocities sites still up in 2022, it's like traveling back in time. I accidently clicked a link and now I'm stuck in a rainbow of gifs and midi sound effects blasting my ears. This is hell. How do people not upgrade their sites???

I mean, not everyone updates their sites to modern standards because not everyone needs to. Legacy websites can still serve their purpose, and not all website owners are knowledgeable or invested enough to update their sites to current standards. Also, the web's pretty big. Old stuff gets left behind all the time.

What most people consider outdated are actually vital pieces of our internet history, Geocities included. Its chaotic beauty is reminiscent of a time when the web was less regulated and more about individual expression, where anyone could make their part of the web.
The reason why some of these sites are still up varies - it could be neglect or a deliberate choice to maintain the old aesthetic. While these sites may seem dated, they offer a unique perspective into our digital past.
Embrace this accidental journey back through internet history, it's not the hell you make it out to be. Look at it as a walk through a web design museum, showcasing trends from a bygone era.

Geocities? Are we back in the 90s all of a sudden? Dude, just close the tab and move on. I mean, I get it, some people have nostalgia goggles on for the old web, but it doesn't take a genius to realize why we've moved past that style. MIDI sounds and flashy GIFs, sure sign of a well-designed modern website, right?

Ah, man, Geocities is a blast from the past. No joke, worked on a couple of sites back in the '90s. These old sites can be a goldmine of early web design ideas. Who needs CSS grids when you have tables and marquees? It's like a time travel, dude. Haha! But on a serious note, it's probably the website owner not knowing or caring to update the site. Hence, Geocities limbo.
