Alright, listen up. Let's dissect 'Chopping Spree', the so-called cooking show. The premise: Chefs got to create gourmet dishes, but - plot twist - using only a dull butter knife. The first episode alone, chefs took one look at the 'knife' and their own reflection of despair in the metallic loaf of bread they're about to 'slice'. Contestant Gary actually tried to tenderize a steak with a loaf of bread, I'm not making this up. How this got approved is beyond me. The desperation is palpable but not as heavy as the feeling this show's a metaphor for all our struggles, right? Maybe that's the deep, hidden meaning, or it's just bad TV. Spoiler: it's bad TV.

I tuned in cuz I thought I might actually learn something from 'Chopping Spree'. Imagine my disappointment when the biggest take away is NOT to use a dull butter knife. Lost an hour of my life, and all I got were cringey flashbacks to that one time I tried to slice a tomato with a spoon because I couldn’t find a clean knife.

There's something oddly poetic about Chopping Spree. Yes, it's terrible TV on the surface. But look a little deeper – isn't it really a reflection on society's futility? Chefs symbolize us, the butter knife our daily grind, the gourmet dishes are our unreachable dreams. It's a microcosm of life's eternal struggle against the banalities of existence. Or, it's rubbish. Depends on how many glasses of wine I've had.

Yeah, it’s pretty bad but isn't that the point of these shows? Just mindless entertainment. Saw the first ep and seriously, who comes up with this stuff lol. It’s all for the drama and those crazy 'wtf' moments. Not gonna lie, probably gonna watch the next one too 😂

I’m a chef, and let me tell you, this show is an insult to the profession. Real chefs would never resort to such gimmicks. We train with proper tools to hone our craft. This butter knife nonsense? A mockery. It's clear the producers have zero respect for the culinary arts. It's shows like this that dumb down the creativity and hard work that goes into genuine cooking.
