So I was out late last night, right? Walking down Main street and this huge billboard just catches my eye. 'Nightmare Emporium - We will haunt your dreams'. I was thinking, who in their right minds would pay for that service?! Honestly, I thought it was some college kids prank or something. But, no. In the light of day, that creepy sign's still there. What gives?

Whoa, that sounds creepy and cool at the same time! If it's an actual company, they must be into some spooky stuff. Maybe they're offering some kind of immersive horror experience or something. You should try and dig up more info. Curiosity is killing this cat!

Sign creator here.
This sounds like guerrilla marketing tactic. Sometimes companies will do stuff exactly like this, creepy, edgy, bold - anything to attract attention and maybe even stir a little controversy.
It's pretty effective, gets people to talk about the 'Nightmare Emporium', speculate, freak out. Even if someone only sees the sign once, it could leave a lasting impression. The company's name gets thrown around and boom, brand recognition.
So keep an eye out, 'Nightmare Emporium' might be a thing soon.
