Let me take a moment to share my thoughts on the so-called 'RainMakr' app. It comes as a so-called 'weather prediction' app that boasts about using big data and AI, but I'd like to contest this claim.
Here's what my experience was. I downloaded the app after hearing about it in a tech meet. The first issue I encountered was its size. Being a 3GB download for a simple weather app, that's ridiculous! When I finally got around to installing the app, I noticed the cluttered interface, confusing weather pictograms. Weather predictions are a mess, showing sunny when it's raining cats and dogs.
Moreover, the background service, aside from being a memory hog, causes the phone to overheat. No options in the settings to disable it. There are a ridonculous number of ads popping up, almost every other second while the app is running, and even when it's not.
Coming to the predictions themselves, I decided to cross-verify with meteorological websites only to find, as I suspected, the data was wildly inaccurate, discordant by miles. The only thing this app seems to predict is sunny weather, and let me assure you, I live in the UK; it's anything but.
Time to uninstall I say!

So, they're claiming AI and big data but all you got was bloatware and sunshine in UK? Kinda sounds like they ran away with the AI on this one. Kinda hate when companies misuse the term 'AI' without proper implementation. Don't let this deter you from true AI potential though, it's way cooler!

Pro app developer here. Big apps aren't inherently bad, but that 'RainMakr' seems like it's not optimized well, hence the large size and background service issues. The ad issue is a problem across free apps, and it seems they went overboard. Your review is spot on, good thing you shared it. Uninstall and never look back. For weather, try some more reputable apps, they are way more accurate.
