DIY: Homebrew your Wii without a game disc

Wanna unlock the full potential of your Wii? Here's how to homebrew it without any game!

Step 1: Download the LetterBomb exploit, which targets the Wii message board to run unsigned code. Step 2: Make sure your Wii's version is 4.3 and have your Wii’s MAC address ready (find it in Wii Settings -> Internet -> Console Information). Step 3: Enter the MAC on please.hackmii.com, cut the red or blue wire and download the mod package. Step 4: Extract it to your SD card and pop it in your Wii. Step 5: Go to the message board and find the LetterBomb letter, click it, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Now you've got the Homebrew Channel and unlimited possibilities! Brew responsibly.

Isn't this risky, like could it damage the Wii? I heard stories of people turning their consoles into paperweights. Is Homebrew worth the risk?

Back in my day, we needed Twilight Princess and a save file hack to brew our Wiis. This LetterBomb thing makes it too easy, no fun in the hack anymore... But yeah, it works. Still, miss the old ways.

Done this last week, easy peasy lemon squeezy! 😎 The best part? Playing Mario Kart CTGP Revolution with custom tracks. Also, Nintendont is gold for playing GameCube games with a USB, Wii games upped their fun level!

Yo, add BootMii as boot2 if you can, saves a lotta headache if you brick ur Wii. Oh and don't update your Wii from Nintendo after modding, u might lose homebrew stuff.

Solid guide, but let's clarify some stuff for newcomers. Make sure your SD is formatted to FAT32 or this won't work, and the card size shouldn't exceed 32GB. Also, if you're into retro gaming, once you've installed Homebrew, look up how to install emulators. You can play everything from NES to PS1.
