The common myth is we only use 10% of our brains, right? But it's debunked; we actually use all parts of our brain. However, let's entertain the idea. What if we could amplify our brain's capacity to 100% at will?

Though, it's equally important to consider the societal changes - the gap between those who can do this and those who can't could lead to a new form of inequality. How would we ensure fair use of such a capability? Ethics would be as big a hurdle as the science behind it.

I’m all for improving brain function but like the post says, ethics is a big issue. We could end up with a society split between the haves and have-nots but on a mental level this time. A 'brain gap' sounds even scarier than the wealth gap.

There's a spiritual angle here we're overlooking. This isn't just about smarts and tech. This could be the evolutionary leap that lets us truly understand the universe and our place in it. Telepathy could unite humanity in empathy, ending wars and conflict.

As a neuroscientist, let me clarify that 'using 100% of our brain' doesn't mean we aren't already making full use of it. Our brain has a delicate balance of activity and rest to avoid burnout. Cranking it up to an imaginary 'full capacity' sounds like a quick route to a system overload or worse, brain damage! It's a fun thought experiment but let's keep our feet on the ground.
