Not to be a downer but would life have any meaning if it never ended? Part of what makes life precious is that it's finite. Plus, can you imagine being stuck with the same problems forever? I mean, some people never change even with the short time they have lol.

Sounds like something straight out of a science fiction novel, right? But really, if humans didn't have a natural endpoint, would we still be human in any meaningful sense? Our whole society is structured around the lifecycle - birth, growth, decline, death. Remove that and we're living in a whole new reality.

The idea of eternal life is fascinating but goes against the nature of life cycles. If everyone lived forever, the concept of legacy and change would get tossed out the window. Imagine having leaders that never leave power or stars that never fade away to make room for new talent... creepy.

Well, imo they might just retire from public life after a while anyway. People might get bored if the same celebs are on repeat for centuries. There's already talk about rebooting movies all the time, imagine if it was the actors themselves getting rebooted!

We'd probably have to invent new social systems entirely, as all our current institutions like pensions, term limits for political offices, and even 'lifetime' awards would become obsolete. Imagine the historical wisdom those people would have, like living encyclopedias! Presidents & popes dropping truth bombs from centuries of experience. Would be insane, but think it might eventually get a bit overwhelming for society. Everyone would always look to them for answers.
