I'm from Texas and just found out it used to be its OWN COUNTRY for like 10 years! Called the Republic of Texas from 1836-1846. That's wild! We even had our own president and everything. Should've stayed our own country, amirite? 😉 #TexasForever

You think that's wild, wait till you hear about the rumors that there's a secret clause that allows Texas to secede whenever it wants. Big if true, but no one has found solid proof yet. Makes you wonder what's really in the Texas state archives, doesn't it?

That's one of the things that make Texas history so cool, y’all. The Battle of the Alamo and the fight for independence from Mexico is a story full of courage and resilience. Also, don't forget that Texas maintained the right to split into five separate states when it joined the Union. Imagine that!

The Republic of Texas indeed had a unique history. Not only did it function as its own nation with its own government, but it also had to fend off attacks from Mexico until ultimately joining the United States. What's also fascinating is the level of international diplomacy Texas engaged in, having established foreign relations with major powers like the United States, France, and Britain. Texas’s decision to join the union was driven both by economic reasons and the need for military support.

Yeah, man, The Republic of Texas was legit! President Sam Houston one badass founding father. Sometimes I think it would have been cool if we stayed our own country too, but then we wouldn't have the same history. You gotta admit being part of the US has its perks, but #TexasIndependenceDay should be a national holiday 🤠
