Netflix's Dr. Seuss shows and specials are not having any updates

The shows that haven't been resurfaced with updates include: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (2D series), The Sneetches (CGI special), Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose (CGI special), Wacky Wednesday (live-action/animation hybrid series), and Horton Hears a Who (CGI series).

Both of them were announced in 2022. It's currently 2024, and it's been 2 years since the announcement happened. With, drumroll, no updates.

I have faith they'll come through. Netflix knows there's a huge audience for Dr. Seuss content, and they've done well with adaptations before. Hang in there, everyone! Good things come to those who wait, right?

Heard from a buddy in the animation biz that stuff like this happens cuz of creative differences, budget overflows or something going wrong behind the scenes. Netflix's notorious for scrapping stuff if it doesn't line up perfectly with their visions. Sit tight or just move on is what I say.

First post here, got really excited when they announced the Horton series. Just wanna know if it's still happening or did I miss the cancellation news? Anyone got some insider scoop?

In-depth research on Dr. Seuss adaptations shows a pattern of prolonged development cycles, especially with posthumous works. Considering the cultural sensitivity and the legacy of Seuss' brand, it's plausible that they are taking extra precaution to get it right, align with modern values, and avoid production snafus. It's also worth noting the complexities of adapting such whimsical and stylized content for a modern audience. Patience could very well pay off.

I'm so hyped for these shows, especially the Sneetches special! Read somewhere the production got delayed coz they wanted to get the animation just perfect, but who knows. Really hoping Netflix doesn't let us down! 🤞

Classic vaporware vibes. They announce these things with lots of hype, then silence. Maybe rights issues with Seuss' estate or just development hell? Wouldn't be the first time Netflix quietly shelves projects.

I guess we're all kinda hanging on for any sort of news, huh? Totally wanna see what they'd do with Wacky Wednesday, that book was a childhood fave. Wonder if they're hitting roadblocks or just keeping things under wraps for a big surprise. Crossing fingers it's the latter!
