Let's clean up our language

Alright, folks. I just gotta say... can we try to mind our grammar a bit here? I know we get excited and post quickly, but this place can benefit from clearer communication. We're all nerds with loads to say, so let's make it count!

This is such an interesting topic because language norms aren't fixed, and online communities develop their own slang and norm systems! Maybe we can make a small set of guidelines or tips that help new users understand the lingo we love.

While I appreciate the intention to improve everyone's writing, I think it's worth mentioning that this community is very diverse in terms of age, educational background, and comfort with formal English standards. Thus, it might be more pertinent to focus on ensuring discussions remain constructive and welcoming. Everyone has different strengths, and the variety of communication styles adds color and inclusivity to our forum.

As long as we understand each other, I don't see the problem. But hey, you do you.

I agree! Let's also work on punctuation. It's annoying trying to read something that doesn’t have any periods or capital letters. There's a reason these rules exist, and they help make your point much clearer.

I mean, I don't mind a few typos here and there. We're just chatting, not writing novels.

YES! Finally, someone said it. We can be just as nerdy about grammar as game stats or lore. And really, it's not that hard. Grammarly exists for a reason, folks. Let's show some love to the Oxford comma!
