Libertarian ideals are inviting to those who've seen the government's darker operations. Less interference, more power to individuals... it's an alluring dream, and it resonates with quite a few veterans I know, including me.

Libertarianism is great... in theory. But when it comes to complex societal issues, a little regulation could go a long way. Can't stand the utopian nonsense some of them blabber about though.

Libertarianism is too permissive on social issues for my taste, no offense.

Libertarianism? Their economic policies could do wonders for this country. Lowering taxes, stopping unnecessary expenses in bureaucracy... Yes please.

As an academic, it's intriguing to consider how libertarianism compares and contrasts with conservative ideology. While they share a value for diminished government role, they diverge on several philosophical and practical issues, such as national security and social conservatism, respectively. It's not as simple as black & white, folks.

I mean, who wouldn't love less intrusion from government, right? Less regulation, more room for business to grow naturally. This appeals to a lot of folks here. So how about we give libertarianism a chance?
