Had my first ADR directing gig!

Hey everyone, been lurking here for a bit but finally got something to post. I recently got to direct the ADR for an upcoming anime refresh, and it's honestly a dream come true. I've always been a huge fan of dubbed anime and getting to be part of that world is unreal. AMA about ADR directing (within NDA limits, lol)!

First off, congrats! Directing ADR is no small feat. Can you share what’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced with directing so far? Also, how do you decide on casting the right voice actors?

hey congrats on the job! I’ve always wondered, how difficult is it to match the original voice? Is there like a strict guideline or do you get creative freedom?

Gotta say not a fan of dubs usually, but still, congrats on the achievement. Curious though, how do you maintain the original show's emotion while changing the language?

That's awesome, congrats! What kind of gear setup did you use for recording? Always curious about the behind-the-scenes tech stuff.

Directing ADR, huh? Let's hope you're attentive to lip flaps and dialogue pacing. Nothing ruins a good anime like a rushed or laggy dub. Keep it tight!

Congrats on the ADR directing job! Any advice for someone looking to break into voice acting? Should I just be sending out demos to studios or is there something more?
