Dubs Ruin Everything

I don’t get you guys, how can you even stand dubs?? The voices are always so off and they lack the nuance of the original. Why not just read the subs and hear how it's meant to be? Dubs just butcher the original masterpiece. Change my mind.

All this arguing over subs vs dubs and I'm just here wondering why y'all don't read the manga instead. You get the original story, pacing as intended, and no annoying voice acting to ruin anything. Problem solved.

While I appreciate the original performances, a well-directed dub offers access to non-native speakers and those with reading difficulties. It's a compromise, but an important one in ensuring media is inclusive. And before you argue about 'the nuance,' localization teams work diligently to preserve the director's vision within the cultural context of the translation.

look, not all of us wanna be glued to the screen 24/7. I like having my shows on while doing other stuff. Can't do that with subs. Good dubs let me enjoy the story without missing out. Also, kids can watch anime easier with dubs, lets them enjoy stuff early on.

Gotta disagree there. I've met some English VAs at cons and they're dedicated to their craft. They work hard to bring those characters to life in a new language. It's a different art form, IMHO. Plus, not everyone can read subs due to dyslexia or visual impairments so dubs are a godsend for them.

Idk, as a newbie to anime I started with dubs cuz it was easier to follow. it helped me get used to the whole anime style & stories. Later I switched to subs and yeah, they're better, but dubs kinda opened the door for me you know?

Dubs are literally the worst. It's an insult to the original work. Hearing the authentic emotion in the original language is unmatched. If you can't recognize the beauty in that, I dunno what to tell you, dude. #subsnotdubs

Not all dubs are bad, though I get where ur coming from. Some actually have killer voice casts who really get into their roles. Sure, the sub is the OG but sometimes it's nice to just chill without reading. Plus, some jokes & cultural stuff get localized so we can get it better. Not changing ur mind just saying not all dubs are trash 🔥
