Remembering Super Mario 64 - Odyssey's Tribute

Every time I toss Cappy on one of those stone pedestals and leap into the painting-like portals, I get a rush of nostalgia. Mario 64 lives on through Odyssey and I'm HERE for it. What are some of your favorite nostalgic nods in the game?

Did you catch how they even brought back some of the enemies from Mario 64? Like the Chargin' Chucks and those adorable little fuzzies? That stuff is just pure Mario gold!

The whole Mushroom Kingdom area is a bit too much fan service if you ask me. I like some of the less-obvious nods, like how some of the moons are stars locked behind cages, just like in Mario 64.

One of the things I really appreciate is how they incorporated so many costumes from Mario’s entire history. The Mario 64 suit brought back the polygonal look in full force and I just can't help but appreciate those little details.

Odyssey is an amazing homage and sequel to SM64, but one of the best callbacks gotta be the secret 2D sections. The blend of old school and new tech is just chef's kiss

Nostalgia is just a tool to make us old heads buy more games. Odyssey's cool and all, but its no Mario 64 LETS BE REAL.

Gotta say, riding Yoshi again but in the 3D world of Odyssey was just...so cool and nostalgia overload! They even kept the flutter jump sound. Genious!

The nostalgic easter eggs are all over the place, like when you hit the big steel blocks and it makes the classic coin collecting sound! Or pounding the ground and hearing that distinctive thud from 64!

Absolutely feel the same vibes with the paintings too. Getting to the Mushroom Kingdom in Odyssey was a total mind-blower, seriously hit me in the feels with the Peach's Castle music and everything!
