Super Mario 64 big star secret

The name refers to a lost screamer video from 2007.

I remember watching this. It was a fake tutorial on how to unlock Luigi. The creator, LotusMan17 (currently inactive) used Toad's Tool 64 for modding the tool. The last few seconds were "Press A on this wall" while we showed Mario running into the wall. At the end, before the credits rolled, we cut to the K-fee screamer.

The screamer was available on YouTube up until 2012. The only known footage of this screamer is from a low quality reaction video called "Little boy getting scared. Late reaction.".

Am I the only one who thought those Luigi unlock hoaxes were dumb even back then? Like, come on, it was pretty obvious Nintendo didn't hide a whole character in the game without a trace. The screamer ending just made me roll my eyes...but I guess some folks love that sort of thing.

Remember stumbling upon that screamer video late one night. Absolutely terrified me but in retrospect, it's such an iconic piece of Mario 64 history, miss those chaotic internet days. It was the wild speculation and hoaxes that made the community so engaging. Shoutout to LotusMan17 for being part of that.

I'm kinda new to this whole Mario 64 lore thing, never knew these screamer pranks were a thing? Wild that peeps were trying to mod Luigi into the game, should've known the big N would never make it that easy lol. Gonna look up that reaction video for the lolz. Thanks for sharing the legend

LOL remember sending this to all my friends and telling them it was a legit easter egg. Good times watching them jump out their skins. The salt was real 😂

This is classic internet history! Used to love the mystery of unlocking Luigi before the rumors were officially debunked. Those screamer vids were part of the wild west era of the net. Wish I could see that vid again, just for the nostalgia. If anyone somehow finds it buried out there, hit me up!

ugh those screamers were the worst, still remember jumping out of my skin when I saw one for the first time 😱 thanks, early 2000s internet culture! could've done without the trauma lol

Long time follower of LotusMan17 here. After he went inactive, a lot of his content, including the Super Mario 64 big star secret, kinda vanished into thin air. Used to scare my little brother with that video, good times. To anyone looking for it, that 'Little boy getting scared' vid is the closest you'll get. The low quality actually makes the screamer even creepier imo.

I think the video got deleted in 2012 after LotusMan17 accidentally deleted it.

Just dove into an old hard drive looking for this. I used to download funny or weird game videos like this screamer back in the day. No luck, but if anyone else compulsively hoarded internet stuff from that era, maybe they have a copy?

I heard someone actually tried to recreate the tutorial as a mod. They put in a fake Luigi unlock to prank their friends 😂 Wish they’d uploaded it before the great YouTube purge of 2012.

Man, that takes me back. I remember all sorts of rumors on how to unlock Luigi in SM64. Was this the same video that had Mario jump into the pool on the roof of the castle? I’ve tried so many of these as a kid!

Dude, that brings back memories. I totally fell for one of those 'Luigi unlock' videos back in the day. Must've been this one or something similar. Spent hours banging Mario's head against walls in the castle. Lol, the good old days of wild internet rumors and scary pop-ups. Anyone else get duped by these?
