Man, Luigi's Mansion was a gem. It's one of those titles that define the GameCube era for me. The sequels are alright, but that first game's charm is so distinct. Plus, the whole thing felt more like an adventure since it was the first time we got something like it. Also, am I the only one who thinks the sound design was phenomenal?

New to this subreddit but I had to comment because I literally just finished Luigi's Mansion for the first time last week! It holds up so well, I don't get why this isn't a bigger thing. That spooky feeling is 10/10.

Why bother with the old when you've got the new shiny games? Lol, just kidding, I actually sold my soul for a new Luigi's Mansion game that went back to the original's style. Shh, don't tell Nintendo. 👻

I hear ya, friend. The original Luigi's Mansion had such a unique feel, partly due to the limitations of the era which ironically made devs more creative. What the game lacked in length, it made up with personality. The newer iterations seem to focus more on variety and longevity but sometimes at the expense of that moody quality the first game nailed. I'd love to see them take a step back to the roots with a smaller, denser, and spookier mansion.

The newer Luigi's Mansion games are cool and all, but yeah, they lack that certain... eeriness you get with the first. The GameCube graphics gave it a kinda surreal charm. They streamlined a lot in the sequels, not sure if it's all for the best.

Totally with you there, I miss the vibes from the original Luigi's Mansion too! Everything about that game was spot on, from the music to the whole spooky atmosphere. They just don't make 'em like that anymore, huh?
