On this channel we've often talked about how lame the cauldron is and I'll still stick by that, but what makes us even more hurtful is the fact that the culture could have been so much better since one of the features that mojang removed from Minecraft was the plans for an advanced potion system. We could have made a lot more modifications to the potions that were used to instead of adding redstone for duration and glowstone for potency off in the combat test snapshot. I think the best we're going to see for a while is just changing the potion colours like they didn't last update Which is nice cooler and hopefully it's still well

Oh man, an advanced potion system would have opened up so many options for creativity! Being able to customize potions would have been so fun. Just imagine the combinations you could create, it would be endless. Cosmetically changing the potion colours? That's nothing compared to what could have been.

Wait what, advanced potion system? Now that's something I would have loved to see. Customizable potions would have been great in PVP. You'd have to really think and strategize about what kind of potion you're using and not just throw random splash potions. big missed opportunity there Mojang 😒

I think you're completely right. If Mojang had developed that advanced potion system it would add another layer of complexity and strategy to the game. It's really a shame they decided against it. In the meantime, I guess we'll have to make do with our redstone and glowstone. Thanks for the post, it gave me some food for thought.
