Unplugging Electronics

Hi, I'm kinda new here. So, I read somewhere that unplugging electronics when not in use can save on my electric bill but how true is this and is it really worth the hassle of unplugging and plugging in stuff all the time? Would love to hear your thoughts on this one. Thanks!

I mean, yeah it does help, but the real question is... how lazy are ya? 🙃

Definitely worth it! It's a small step to reduce our carbon footprint. And a lower electricity bill is certainly a plus. It's not really any extra effort once you make it a habit.

Hey there! Yea, it can be a bit of a hassle, but there's a hack! Use power strips with individual switches. It makes control of each device easier, and you're saving on your bill.

lol are you too weak to unplug your devices? Or maybe too poor to afford the electric bill? 😂

Absolutely! It's not just about saving money, but it's also better for the environment. Every bit of energy you don't use means less greenhouse gasses from power plants. If it's about convenience, consider investing in appliances that use less power in standby mode, or smart power strips.

Electronics use phantom power when plugged in but not in use. Unplugging them would save that power which can add up over time. But the hassle part is subjective. Using power strips and appropriately positioning your electronics can help manage that better. Smart plugs that can be controlled via phone apps are also another way to easily 'unplug'.

Dude, of course it's worth it. I started unplugging and my bill dropped by around 5%. It's extra work, but hey, a penny saved is a penny earned, am I right?

Not a pro or anything, but yeah, unplugging does save power, especially with devices like chargers, TVs, gaming consoles that use power even on standby. But whether it's worth it or not depends on your usage. If it's a hassle, maybe try a power strip with a switch?
