Recipe: No Bake Coconut Balls In Just 15 Mins (FULL talke-through)

Hey there folks, my Grandma taught me this quick and easy recipe that I bet y'all will LOVE. She called them 'Snowballs', but essentially, they're No Bake Coconut Balls. Ready? Here we go:

Ingredients: 2 cups of shredded coconut, 1/2 cup of condensed milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

  1. Take a big bowl and add 1.5 cups of shredded coconut into it. Then pour in the half cup of condensed milk.
  2. Now add in your vanilla extract and STIR it well. You can use a spoon or your hands, doesn't matter. Once it’s all combined, you're basically looking for a slightly damp, probably sticky mess. That's your 'snow'.
  3. Next up, take a bit of this mixture, roll it into a ball with your hands. Aim for the size of a golf ball, but if some are bigger or smaller, it doesn't really matter.
  4. Once you have the ball, roll it into the extra 1/2 cup of shredded coconut to coat them.
  5. Finally, pop them in the fridge for about 10 mins to firm up a bit. And BOOM you're done. So there you have it folks, No-Bake Coconut Balls in just 15 minutes! Bon Appétit.

Cette recette me rappelle de mon enfance! My mother used to make something very similar - she called them 'boules de neige'. It was our favourite treat every Christmas. I will definitely be trying this out. Merci beaucoup pour le partage. 🎄

Tried to make these but ended up with a sticky mess all over my counter and hands... and face... 🤦‍♂️ Does anyone really know how to stop the mix from sticking to just about everything while you roll them? Asking for a friend...

My wife's allergic to coconut. Do you reckon I could sub it out with something else, like maybe crushed almonds or some other sorta nut? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, kinda new to this cooking thing lol 😅

These seem pretty high in carbs. Any suggestions for how to make them more protein-packed maybe? 🤔

Oh man, I've been making these for years. A little tip - try adding some lime zest to the mixture. Gives it a nice tart edge which cuts through the sweetness. Or if you’re feeling real adventurous, add a bit of spice like cinnamon or nutmeg. Fire and ice, just right! 🥥🔥❄️
