Made Pasta Without Boiling Water? (truth inside)

Okay, hear me out guys. So last night I wanted to cook pasta but I was too lazy to wait for the water to boil. So I just soaked the pasta in water and left it there while I was watching Netflix. After about an hour I returned and find out that the pastas has softened and expanded quite a bit. I then tossed it to the frying pan with some sauce and voilà, it’s ready to eat. It wasnt Al dente, but hey, it's edible and tastes pretty good. Perfect for lazy nights!

In my day, we'd never dream of not boiling the pasta. It's all about patience, dear. But if it saves you time and you enjoy it, then why not? Happy cooking!

Interesting... been trying to find ways to avoid the boiling part. Too many boil overs. 🙈 Might give this a go! Thanks for sharing!

Well, that's an absolute culinary travesty. But who am I to stop your Netflix binge? At least try using warm water next time, for your own sake.

Wow, I never thought of trying that. Might not be conventional, but hey if it tasted good, who cares! Might try it myself next time I'm feeling lazy but craving some pasta.

This is actually not as unusual as it sounds. From a science point of view, soaking pasta in water will make it absorb moisture and soften. The longer you leave it, the softer it will get. You essentially rehydrated the pasta without applying heat. This method can take a while though, hence why boiling is preferred as it speeds up the process. If you want to speed up your lazy pasta, try using hot tap water to soak your pasta in. This can reduce the soaking time considerably. But do remember, for the best pasta you should still boil it!

Dude, boiling water is too high-maintenance now? Really? What's next, eating raw pasta? Lol

Mamma mia! Reading this hurt my Italian soul. But as long as you enjoyed your meal, that's what matters I suppose. Next time though, try soaking it in hot water instead of cold; it'll soften quicker!

Haha, you just described my every Friday night. The only difference is I put the pasta in warm tap water to speed things up. Works every time!
