Owlerton Stadium: The 'highlight' of Sheffield

Who even goes to dog racing these days? Walked by Owlerton Stadium and couldn't help but chuckle. It's like a relic from a past nobody wants to remember. Might as well turn it into a giant pub, would prob see more business that way... thoughts?

Now you're talkin'! A giant pub would be mint. I reckon with the right theme and drinks, it'd be a solid investment. Although, maybe not just a pub, throw in some indie food stalls and boom, you've got a trendy hotspot. Wishful thinking?

I remember as a kiddo, going there with me family. Times have changed though, haven't they? A giant pub, might work, but could also turn it into a place for markets or fairs. Kept some good memories from there; sad to see traditions die out sometimes.

The whole sport should be put to an end. Exploitation of animals for entertainment is just wrong. Turn it into something that promotes compassion and community, not gambling and cruelty.

Owlerton has a rich history in Sheffield, and it's been around since the 1920s! It would be a shame to lose a piece of that history, even if dog racing has fallen out of favor. I'd hope any change would preserve some of the site's character, maybe a museum or heritage center with exhibits about local sports including dog racing?

Don't knock it till you try it. It's a bit of heritage, isn't it? Adds character to Sheffield. But I get that it's not the same with all the dog racing controversy. Massive pub? Could be a laugh, but I reckon a mix of sports bar and live music venue would smash it.

Dog racing is so outdated & cruel imo. I'd support it being turned into something more ethical, like a community center or something for local youth. Maybe keep the space for animals but in a better way, like a dog park!

Ah mate, u gotta give it a chance. Seems old school but it can be a proper night out. I get what you mean tho, not everyone's cuppa tea these days with the awareness about animal welfare an all. Pubs aren't a bad shout. Could do with a new one in our area.
