Sheffield's Ultimate Henderson's Relish Recipe

If you're gonna live in Sheffield, you gotta cook with Hendo's, right? Here's my killer recipe for the best Hendo's marinated steaks:

Ingredients:
  • 4 sirloin steaks
  • 1/4 cup Henderson's Relish
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions:
  1. Combine all the ingredients except the steaks in a bowl.
  2. Place steaks in a zip-lock bag, pour the marinade over, ensuring they're well-coated.
  3. Let them marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  4. Grill to your preferred doneness.

Decent recipe, though it's hardly 'ultimate.' To truly maximize the flavour potential of Henderson's, consider letting the steaks rest with the marinade post-grilling. Allows the juices to redistribute and the Hendo's to really soak in. And don't skimp on the garlic, either. Double it for a good kick.

I've never marinated steaks before, usually just season 'em and throw 'em on the grill. Is there a big difference with marinating first? Might give this a go if it’s really worth it.

Hendo's is life, even for us vegans! Obviously, I won't use it with steak, lol, but I reckon this could be bangin' on some grilled portobellos or tempeh. Gonna tweak it and I'll report back. Who else is with me for a vegan Hendo's cook-off?
