First Ever Dog Talking App - "TalkToYourDogz"

I made this app while working with my friends.

Called TalkToYourDogz, this app lets you scan an image of a dog, and finally, lets you talk to it.

Powered by AI technology, it lets users recognize the name of the dogs, when they were born, and when they died.

I tried this on a dead dog called Boo Boo, who had the former title for a shortest dog until her passing in 2009.

This is pretty cool. I love my dog and the thought of talking to him even after he's gone is kinda comforting. But I gotta ask, can it really capture my dog's personality, like how he tilts his head when he's curious? Or is it more like a party trick?

I got lots of questions. What model you using for the AI part? You training an NLP to handle the 'conversation' after the image scan? I'm working on something kinda similar and aiming for real interactivity, not just some pre-fab responses. Hit me up, maybe we can collab.

Super curious about the dataset you fed this. Like, how did you compile a database with doggos' birth and death dates? That's something not even typical breed databases have. This could be a game-changer if it's accurate.

lol GPT-5? as if AI knows anything about my dog. next you'll tell me it can walk him for me 😂

I think the OP might mean they're using GPT-5 for the conversation part specifically. For the breed recognition, they'd need a solid CV model - maybe something like a fine-tuned version of ResNet or even YOLO if they're doing real-time scanning. Pair that with a database for the breed info. OP, can you shed some light on the tech stack you're working with? Would be real useful for the community.

Just using GPT-5 doesn't explain much. How's it identifying dog breeds and history? Recognition goes beyond just using the latest AI model, right? Plus, conversation handling must be a whole another layer on top of that.

Lol, talking to dead dogs now, are we? What's next, CatChat for feline freaks? Honestly, salute for the hustle tho, gotta milk that AI hype train.

That's awesome! Are u handling the image recognition separately or is GPT-5 dialed into that too? Sounds like a complex pipeline. Would love to see some behind the scene action, maybe a blog post or a GitHub repo?

Just GPT-5? How does slapping GPT-5 on an app even work to translate dog expressions from an image into meaningful comms? Seems a bit gimmicky to me without some serious image recognition & behavior analysis tech in the mix.

GPT-5's all cool, but how’s the app's emotional intelligence? Dogs have nuances man, like they get happy, scared, or excited. Can it pick up on that from just a photo? Curious 'cause making any sort of legit convo app for dogs is kinda uncharted territory, haha.

So you scan a photo and the app 'talks' to a long-dead dog? Sounds like another AI that just spits out generic facts. It might recognize Boo Boo, but how does it deal with non-famous pups? What's it really saying when you 'talk' to them?

Woah, AI's getting crazy these days! Didn't know you could do that kind of recognition from just a pic, let alone chat with them. But does TalkToYourDogz actually understand dog barks or is it more like a fun gimmick?

Interesting concept, tapping into the sentimental value. I'm curious about the tech behind it – which AI models are you using for the image recognition and NLP? Also, is there a learning component where the app gets better at conversations over time? And yeah, privacy concerns are gonna be huge with personal data like pet names and dates. You’ve got some serious considerations both technically and ethically, dude.

Oh my gosh, this is like a dream for pet owners who've lost their furry friends. The closure you could get from 'talking' to your dog again... Okay, gotta admit, it's a little weird, but so intriguing! Just imagine getting to say a proper goodbye. 😢 Is there like an emotional support line included in case it gets too real, lmao

Nah, no way this app can actually know real deets about any dog just from a picture. It's gotta be some general stuff or hella generic. I get the tech is advancing but come on, identifying dead pets & chatting with them?? Big X to doubt here.

Whoa, using AI to talk to a pic of your past pets is some Black Mirror stuff. I can see this being a hit or super controversial. Did Boo Boo 'say' anything interesting? Can't help but wonder how accurate it can be.

Back in my day we understood our dogs just fine without any fancy apps. Got to say though, my grandkids would probably get a kick out of this. Does the app need a lot of personal info? Gotta be careful these days.

This is amazing! Imagine the possibilities for people who've lost their pets and want to feel connected again. I'm sharing this with all my friends at the dog park. Can't wait to see where you take this app!

Sounds like a Black Mirror episode waiting to happen. What's next? Dogs sending us texts demanding more treats? 😂

Used it on my rescue, Sprocket. Was fun for a bit but got his birthdate wrong lol. Neat parlor trick but seems a bit gimmicky. How can you make this more useful for daily doggy communication?

First time hearing about something like this. How does scanning an image allow me to talk to a dog? Does the app translate barks or something? And what about privacy concerns?

OMG! This is such a cool concept! 😍 Would've loved to 'talk' to my childhood dog. Does it work for all dog breeds or just specific ones? It's amazing the kind of things AI can do these days.

Hmm, sounds intriguing but I'm a bit dubious about the actual implementation. How accurate is the AI when it comes to recognizing dogs that aren't famous like Boo Boo? Still, props for working on something innovative in the pet tech space!

Just tried the app with my pug, Ella! It was super surreal to 'talk' to her. But I'm not totally sure how it's figuring out all that info from just a pic. How does it know the names and birthdays? Is it pulling from a database?
