Sooo... I picked philosophy as my major cause I thought it was cool to think about life and all. Didnt think about JOBS. Graduated and guess what... nothing. 4 years and a bunch of student loans later, all I have are some Nietzsche quotes. Should’ve gone with computer science. Anyone hiring a philosopher?? LOL.

I hear ya. Can't say much that hasn't been said, but sometimes you gotta roll with the punches. Maybe take some online courses in a field that's hiring. Cybersecurity's big, and they often look for analytical types. Don't get too down on yourself, life's weird that way, we all just figuring it out.

This system's a joke. Force you to choose a career path at what, 18? Then straddle a mountain of debt for what? Some idealist notion that 'follow your passion' lands a job. We're all in this rigged game together. Start freelancing, think outside the box, or join the revolution against this broken education system.

Been in your shoes, philosophy major turned construction worker here. Not the dream but hey, pays the bills. Use your degree as an edge. Philosophy teaches you to think differently, sell that. Corporate jobs eat that up - just gotta learn their lingo. Maybe do some volunteering on the side for fulfillment, that's what I did.

Hey don't lose hope! Look into fields like ethics, public policy, or even tech ethics. Companies are looking for folks to help navigate the murky waters of modern tech problems. Throw in some self-study in coding or data analysis & you might just surprise yourself. Hang in there!

Gonna be real with ya, it's a tough spot. If you're interested in staying in the field, look into fellowships, internships, or even starting a blog to flex your philosophical muscles. Otherwise, gotta pivot. Upskill, network, and look for intersecting careers where logic and critical thought are valued.

Hey, I get it, lots of us in tech started on completely diff paths. Don’t sweat it too much, you got critical thinking & analytical skills from philosophy, right? Those are GOLD in tech. Ever think about bootcamps for coding? Some are made for ppl like you. Plus, tech loves diverse thinkers. Worth a shot!

Ouch, sounds rough. But y'know, philosophy isn't just old quotes. Ever thought about teachin or academic stuff? Not that it's raining jobs there, but still an option. Or else, side step into something else with transferable skills you got from your degree? Critical thinkin' and problem-solving are biggies in a lot of fields!
