Insomnia led me to lose my family, job, everything

Haven’t slept more than 2 hours a night for the past year. Started hallucinating, couldn't hold down my job, wife left with the kids 'cause I became a zombie. I'm just alone, with my thoughts, in endless nights. Went to every specialist out there, tried all there is, nothing works. It’s just ruined everything. Anyone got any unconventional methods that worked for you?

The night's a canvas for the mind, my friend. During my wakeful hours, I ponder existence, pen some poetry. Ever consider channeling your sleepless energy into creativity? Writing, art, music? Might not put you to sleep but could make the hours more bearable while you search for your cure.

Seeing you like this sucks hard. Been at the edge myself but I'm crawling back. Podcasts about random stuff, you know, those with monotonous voices? They give my brain something to focus on other than NOT sleeping. And this is gonna sound dumb, but a heavy blanket feels like a hug and helps sometimes. Worth trying?

Hey, I believe in approaching sleep issues from the energy perspective. Maybe look into reiki or healing crystals? I know it may sound out there, but energy imbalances can cause all sorts of havoc. Hit up chakra alignment or sound therapy sessions if you haven't already. Peace and good vibes only, hope you find your solution.

Fellow night walker here. Have you gotten into any hobbies that can tire your mind? For me, it's puzzle games or reading complex stuff that's just dry enough to make my eyes droop. You're probably tired of hearing this, but have you really given melatonin a fair shake? Sometimes it's all about consistency. Hang in there!

Sleep is for the weak anyway, why bother? Just kidding... sort of. Ever try staying up for days on end until you just collapse? Not doctor recommended, but might just reset that broken clock of yours. Or not. What do I know, right?

I study sleep patterns and I see cases like yours. It's important not to pressure yourself to sleep, as it creates a cycle of anxiety. Ever tried sleep restriction therapy? Kinda counterintuitive but sometimes limiting your time in bed to only when you're sleepy can help reset your clock. It's tough but stick with it if you haven’t.

First off, sorry to hear that. Have you tried any holistic stuff? Acupuncture, meditation, or even aromatherapy? It could be something mind-body-spirit related that’s blocking your zzz’s. Not a doc, but sometimes going unconventional means looking at the whole picture.

Man, that's rough. Insomnia's a beast, been there. Diet change worked wonders for me. Cut out caffeine, sugar, ate more greens. Also, weird tip but wearing socks to bed? Somehow it helped me. And deep breathing exercises to chill out before sleep. Might sound too simple but worth a shot.
