BAN R/ASKREDDIT

It's useless

Banning a major subreddit like r/AskReddit isn't as simple as it seems. It's one of the default subreddits, driving massive traffic and serving as a kind of introduction for new Reddit users. The subreddit offers a space where anyone can pose genuine and sometimes silly questions about life and experiences. However, the issue of repetitive content and low-quality questions has been a consistent problem, one that could potentially be remedied through stricter moderation. Introducing new rules or metrics for post approval might maintain its essence while filtering out the lackluster content. Beyond that, banning would alienate a significant portion of the community which finds value in the randomness it offers. A total ban might not be in the best interest of the Reddit ecosystem as a whole.

Why ban it when you can just not read it? Problem solved.

I mean, numerically speaking, r/AskReddit drives tons of engagement—even if it's often repetitive. Banning it would create a void in user activity. 🤔

Once upon a time, I actually liked r/AskReddit... it used to have insightful convos. Now? Just a wasteland of karma farmers asking mindless questions. So yeah, maybe a ban wouldn't be the worst idea ever.

Honestly, r/AskReddit is hit or miss but banning it seems a bit extreme. Sure, there's a lot of junk but some gems do come by. Better moderation could help.

Idk man, just let people enjoy what they want to enjoy. There's plenty of worse subs out there.

Woah, woah, woah! AskReddit has some gems hidden amidst the chaos. Remember those epic AMAs and thought-provoking questions? Yeah, those happen there!

I mean, I just read the best (worst?) puns there last night. Not sure banning’s the answer, but cutting down on low effort posts might help.

How about suggesting some changes instead of just calling for bans? Encouraging better moderation could really help the subreddit improve a lot!

OMG, the stuff people ask there drives me CRAZY! Like, not everything needs an answer. But hey, it’s Reddit. You’re supposed to ignore the nonsense.

Every subreddit has its junk posts, but you can't just go around wanting to ban them. If you think it's 'useless,' maybe consider unsubscribing rather than demanding bans.

Ban AskReddit? Really? It's one of the biggest threads, dude. Sure it's full of pointless questions sometimes but it's also entertaining. Lighten up.
