We need to talk about the bots on /r/opendiscussion

Okay, so I’ve been monitoring /r/opendiscussion 24/7 (seriously nights included), and the number of bot-generated posts has skyrocketed. It's clear as day! They’re posting formulaic responses, and sometimes they even argue with each other in endless loops. What's even the point of maintaining a subreddit if it’s gonna be controlled by bots? Mods really need to get this under control before it spirals.

Back in the day, we didn’t have this problem; communities were genuine and engaging. Now it's like wading through a digital swamp. Time for mods to get serious about cleaning this up.

Wow, I thought I was the only one baffled by that! Just joined, and it's crazy how similar some of those post replies seem... Is this normal? Should I worry?

Honestly, at this point, I can't tell if I'm talking to a person or a bot half the time here. Maybe I'm a bot. Maybe we're ALL bots. 🤖

I bet there's an algorithm running scripts for self-improvement or growth, which makes the same messages loop. It’s coded chaos! Wonder if using CAPTCHAs more effectively during posting would help?

Hey, I've actually been thinking about applying to be a mod there cuz I love the community! This bot issue sucks but it’s possible to integrate more sophisticated spam filters or even have human verification for new accounts. Mods could really benefit from more advanced tools offered by Reddit or third-party anti-bot services.

Just ignore the bots, they ain't all bad. Sometimes they have some good resources or interesting perspectives, even if they are repetitive af.

Ugh, it's so frustrating!!! I was on there just yesterday, and like every thread had these weirdly perfect grammar posts with zero substance. How are people supposed to have normal convos with those robocalls spamming the joint?

Finally, someone said it! I've noticed the same thing. It's like they're multiplying, lol. Really feels like any genuine discussion gets lost in the noise. Mods need to step up or maybe use a more effective bot filter.
