Why are there like ten subs for the same topics? It's almost like people think they can do it better... spoiler: they're not. Just stop already!

Remember subs can cater to different aspects within a topic too. For example, r/MusicCriticism isn't the same as r/TraditionalMusic. There's nuance. In music, just like with tech or any broad subject, duplication might serve specialized sub-categories better.

I just don't know why you'd want to limit the number of spaces people have to talk about stuff. Think of it as coffee shops or book clubs. Each has its own flavor even if the menu looks the same! You find the best discussions sometimes in those smaller niche subs you never knew existed.

It’s not just about 'doing it better', it's about freedom of expression. People create what they think the existing communities lack, even if the overlap is large. For instance, r/TechNews and r/Technology share info but differ vastly in moderation style and user engagement. Cohesion over redundancy.
