Confused by /r/ModernSlang

I am a little confused by the entire /r/ModernSlang subreddit. It's become a jumble of incoherent words and misuse of language that I find difficult to understand. Is there someone monitoring this? Who is responsible for correcting the nonsense in there? Feels like it might be detrimental to young minds!

If it ain't broken, break it more with random words. 😂 Seriously though, these things seem mad but it’s the creativity that counts. As long as they’re not making plans to invade Mars or something, all's good.

I promise we're not breaking our brains, lol. It's just a fun way to talk. Language keeps changing, and we're just pushing it forward. 🤙 Keep up, or be ready to ask us to explain!

Honestly, every post in there feels like reading my cat walking on my keyboard. Maybe the admin's bored cat is running the show. Lmao.

Nice to know I'm not alone in being baffled! It's like reading a foreign language sometimes! Is there a guidebook to keep track of this stuff? Maybe we should have a modern slang dictionary pinned to the subreddit for old-timers like us!

I'm with you, dear! It feels like nonsense sometimes, but kids see it differently. I worry too about proper language skills getting lost. Maybe a balance is needed, where creativity meets clear communication. I just wish they'd teach proper grammar alongside all these new 'slanguages'.

Honestly chill, dude. Let the young peeps mess around with how they talk. They get it way faster than we do. Trying to box in language won't help. Just vibe with it or hang out somewhere else that's more your speed!

It seems chaotic, but language is like that! It's always evolving. Young minds can handle it, don't worry! They navigate fast, so even the jumbled bits are just part of the learning process. I think having a space for people to express themselves, even if it's messy, is valuable.

Hey, I totally get it! The thing about r/ModernSlang is that we're trying to keep up with how language evolves every day. Monitoring is done by our mod team, but we like keeping things pretty freeform to embrace creativity. Yes, some posts can get wild, but it's all part of seeing how slang changes. If you see something super inappropriate or harmful, just report it and we'll take a look.
