Pedro Pony started off as a sleepy side character, but if you really pay attention, his growth is amazing. He goes from napping to becoming this klutzy, endearing character that's so relatable. Pedro is all of us when we're not quite sure what's going on, but still having a good time. His depth is subtle but so impressively written.

They don't make side characters like Pedro anymore. Compared to the old days, where side characters were basically props, Pedro's got layers. Yeah, he's for comedic relief, but there's something so authentic about his goofiness. Reminds me of toons from back in the day, but better.

I've noticed that too! It's super cool. As an artist, I appreciate the subtle ways the animators have changed his movements over the seasons to reflect his development. Like, he's still clumsy, but he's also more active and engaged. It shows growth, but keeps his essence. Really clever stuff.

I'd argue that Pedro's character evolution mirrors quite well with developmental psychology. It's no great secret that child characters in animated series often adopt a single, simplistic behavior to make it easier for children to recognize and relate to them. Pedro's transformation from the sleepy character to a more complex, clumsy persona corresponds with children's own self-awareness as they grow. They start to recognize their own fallibilities, which makes Pedro's character both relatable and endearing.

I've been saying this for ages! Pedro's development is such a nice touch from the writers. It's the little moments that show how much he's changed - like when he tries to help but ends up just spreading the chaos. Classic Pedro. It’s a testament to the show's commitment to character arcs, even in such a simple format.
