As a party planner, I've seen many extraordinary parties. One that stands out was a surprise 60th birthday celebration I had the privilege of planning. The birthday gentleman had been a doctor, serving in underprivileged areas of the world most of his career. We contacted patients he'd treated over the years and filmed their greetings and well wishes. Their gratitude and his reaction made that party unforgettable. It was a powerful reminder that a great party is about more than just food, drinks and music - it's about making people feel special.

The optimum party can be elusive, similar to a rainbow. Fleeting yet delightful, a rare kernel of joy in an often tedious existence. My finest encounter? A poetic gathering at a Bohemian moor, under an inky sky pierced by countless stars. The people were a fusion of philosophers, artists and thinkers. We savored our wine, danced barefoot to enchanting rhythms, spoke of dreams and delusions. It was, in the realest sense, a celebration of life.

I'm not a crazy party person, but the best time I had was at a house party in college. Just a regular party with friends, loud music, beer pong and all. Wasn't expecting to have so much fun but it was a blast. Probably the carefree vibe and good company.

Man, best party ever? Undoubtedly, it has to be the Great Gatsby-themed bash I went to a few years back. The host rented a mansion for the night, and every room was decked out, 1920's style. Jazz bands, flapper dancers, whiskey bars - you name it. People really got into the whole costume thing too. By 3am we started a late-night pool party. Top notch, all the way.
