Why does Curious George never speak?!

Hey guys, srsly tht's buggin me. He's a monkey, but he never speaks. What's up with that? Is there a deeper reason? Spill the beans y'all.

Does he really need to speak though? What would he say anyway? I think the fact that he's non-verbal kinda makes the show more fun, don't ya think? Gives more room for interpretation.

Maybe George doesn't talk cuz he's smarter than us all 🤔 He's seen humanity's bs and he's like 'Nope, I'm good. Off to eat my bananas.' 🍌

Hans Augusto Rey and Margret Rey, the authors of the original Curious George books, kept George speechless to retain the authenticity of monkey behavior. There you go. Facts.

Okay, fandom expert droppin' some knowledge here. 🧐
Curious George never speaks because - fun fact - real monkeys don't speak! The creators wanted to encourage non-verbal communication and observation skills in kids. They felt that keeping George non-verbal would help underline the importance of reading body language and understanding emotions without words.

Ah, remember the good old days where not every character needed lines? Curious George is a classic and a prime example of storytelling without speech. The story flows through George's actions, the reactions of the people around him, and the narrator's descriptions. He doesn't need to talk—he's 'curious' George, not 'conversational' George!

LOL, my kiddo wondered that too. I tell 'em George doesn't talk cause he's speakin' through his curiosity. It's all about non-verbal communication, honey. Kids learn more from that than chattin' monkeys 😉

Heh kiddo, well ya gotta know that Curious George is based on old-school children's books. He was always a mute main character. They probably kept it in the show so kids can imagine what he's 'saying' through his actions. Makes the lil' ones think more IMHO.
