Imagine drinking coffee and napping, sound counterintuitive right? But it's a thing called a 'coffee nap'. Basically, if you sleep after drinking coffee, it can actually enhance the effect of caffeine because leveling off your adenosine levels. Though, it shouldn't make u sleepy if you stay awake. What's your coffee like? Too much sugar can crash you faster.

It's not just about caffeine. Coffee contains a ton of other compounds, some of which might have a sedative effect when the caffeine rush dips. And some peeps have sensitivity to these components, like chlorogenic acids. Plus the warmth of a drink can be super soothing.

It's actually pretty common and it's due to a few reasons. Coffee is a diuretic which can lead to slight dehydration – make sure you're drinking enough water. Dehydration can cause fatigue. Also, coffee blocks the action of adenosine, which is a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep. Once the blocking effect wears off, the built-up adenosine can make you feel sleepy. Plus, if you drink coffee a lot, your body might build a tolerance to caffeine.
