In-depth Comparison: Luigi's Mansion vs. Luigi's Mansion 3

Let's talk about Luigi's Mansion original vs 3. Visuals? Check. Luigi's Mansion 3 is gorgeous with its dynamic lighting and animations, while the original has its charm but can't compete. Gameplay? LM3 hands down, the Poltergust G-00 mechanics are far superior, giving more control and variety.

The ghosts, though. That's where it gets interesting. The original had unique ghost designs and personalities, those portrait ghosts, man! LM3 went for quantity and variety instead. Both have their merits.

Now, the difficulty. Sorta feel the original had a spookier vibe and was a tad more challenging. LM3 is more accessible, sure, but could've used a bit more bite.

And can we talk about the multiplayer in LM3? Scarescraper is gold, legit! Makes the game replay value skyrocket. The original didn't have this at all.

Overall, both games have their place but if I have to pick one? Luigi's Mansion 3, because it's a more polished and complete experience. Don't @ me.

lm3 is just a polterpup in a poltergeist world. OG is where the real haunts are at. everything else is just kids in a candy shop, change my mind. or dont, I'll enjoy the salt either way.

Don't @ you? Too bad, I'm doing it anyway. LM original is where the series peaked. Creepier, more atmospheric. LM3 is just a ghost-themed amusement park. Fun, but I'll take my haunted mansions with less neon lights, thanks.

Scarescraper is indeed gold, but they really dropped the ball on the online matchmaking. Too many times it either disconnects or you get paired with players who don't know what they're doing. Still fun, but could be better.

Just got LM3 cuz of the reviews and haven't played the first. Is it still worth going back to play Luigi's Mansion 1? Don't wanna miss out on any crucial Luigi lore lol.

You're spot on about the Scarescraper mode. That alone adds so many hours to LM3. Even when you beat the story, you can hop online and have a blast with friends. It's one of the best co-op experiences on the Switch, imo.

Gotta disagree on the difficulty part. LM3 might seem easier because the controls are more intuitive and Luigi's moves are more robust. But, some of those puzzle levels—man, they got me scratching my head for real. LM3 is strategic in a way that wasn't there in the original.

The first Luigi's Mansion was THE game of my childhood. Nothing beats the vibe of that game for me, even if it's not as polished as LM3. Sometimes I just boot it up for the feels. Plus, that soundtrack is timeless!

I kinda miss the portrait ghosts in the OG Luigi's Mansion. Wish they would've brought some of that back in 3. But hey, gotta say LM3's ghost hunting is satisfying as heck with that slam move!
