Been analyzing the trailers for the Breath of the Wild sequel and I'm convinced that the floating islands will change the game's vertical exploration completely. Looking at frame 47 of the second trailer, you see what appears to be a reverse waterfall, hinting at gravitational gameplay elements.
Furthermore, the runes shown at 1:12 on the first trailer, when compared to the Sheikah text in BOTW, seem to translate to something like 'skyfall'. Could this hint at a new mechanic? The speculation is killing me! Anyone else going frame by frame trying to decode the secrets?!

If moving islands involve motion controls, better start working on my arms. Who needs the gym when you have BOTW2, am I right? Also, 'skyfall' better mean I get to drop cows on Bokoblins from the stratosphere–take farming to the next level!

Great catch on the runes at 1:12. Did a comparison myself and got similar results. Also, if you pay attention to the patterns on the floating islands, they resemble ancient Sheikah designs that were way more prominent in Age of Calamity. This could mean we're diving deeper into Sheikah technology and its origins. Besides, there's a peculiar pattern that aligns with the fabled 'Sky Cloth' from Hylian lore, which might function as a new item or mechanic related to these gravity-bending islands. Additionally, the architecture suggests a lost era of Hylian history, probably hinting at a significant storyline set in the skies. Can't wait to discuss more as new details emerge.

First time poster long time Zelda fan here!! Noticed that too about the reverse waterfall and it blew my mind!! I'm positive we're getting a new glider or something similar that'll use those gravity elements. Super stoked to see how it pans out, Zelda never disappoints!

The reverse waterfall is absolutely significant. It's very in line with Zelda's consistent theme of 'worlds within worlds' and the duality between sky and land, which has been a thing since Skyward Sword. I've taken the liberty to transcribe all the visible runes from both trailers and cross-reference them with known Sheikah script. Some inscriptions definitely suggest a sort of inversion or upheaval, akin to 'skyfall' as you said. There's historical context to consider too, given the franchise's past with floating terrains. I'm preparing a full breakdown that I'll post soon.

Super hyped to see how the floating islands are gonna work in the game. Love the idea of reversing gravity or something and that 'skyfall' rune could mean we're in for some amazing mid-air gameplay. Anyone else get Studio Ghibli vibes from the floating islands?! Can't wait for more info to drop.
