In-depth Review: Carluccio's in Meadowhall

Decided to give Carluccio's a try after shopping and here’s the lowdown:

Ambience: 4/5. A cozy Italian vibe that transports you away from the hustle of the mall for a bit.

Service: 3/5. Friendly but a bit on the slower side, seems they were understaffed.

Food: - Starters: The Antipasto platter's a must! Generous portions and fresh.

  • Main course: Went with the classic Spaghetti Carbonara. Creamy & comforting, though a tad salty.

  • Dessert: The Tiramisu... chef's kiss! Just the right balance of coffee and sweetness.

Overall experience: If you're not rushed and want to treat yourself to some decent Italian, it's a solid choice. Would recommend trying it at least once!

New to Meadowhall here, but been eyeing Carluccio's. Was on the fence but might give it a go for that antipasto platter you mentioned. Thx for the heads up on the service!

Carluccio's, really? That's 'treating yourself'? Might as well munch on cardboard. There’re far better Italian places in the city if you know where to look smh

Their desserts are definitely the highlight! Did you try their coffee? It pairs so well with the desserts but didn't see it mentioned.

Thanks for the review! Do you know if they have any good gluten-free options? It's been hit-or-miss for me at Italian places, but a good Tiramisu would make my day.

omg I thought I was the only one who thought their Carbonara was too salty. It's like they don't understand the delicate balance. Also, real Carbonara doesn't even use cream! Ever tried making it at home? 100% better. But yea, their Tiramisu is on point.

I have to disagree with you on the Carbonara - it's supposed to be a little salty because of the pancetta, and honestly, cream doesn’t belong in a true Carbonara at all. Carluccio's is okay if you're not looking for authenticity.

Totally agree about the vibe at Carluccio's! Sometimes after a full day of shopping, you just need to escape and what's better than a plate of pasta, right? I'll have to try the tiramisu next time.

Hey, I love Carluccio's antipasto too! But did you notice if they've changed their olive supplier recently? Last time they tasted kinda different to me. Better, if anything.
