backward speedruns... are we gonna play with the controller upside down too? Cause that's the only way to make this more insane than it already sounds 😂

Not really a platformer speedrunner myself but this sounds hilarious lol. If you do this with Mario Kart games count me in 😆

While the idea has a certain novelty, I feel obligated to point out that the meta for each game is highly optimized forwards. Rewinding that process could tarnish the sanctity of the speedrunning records. That said, the historical perspective gained could be invaluable; examining the lineage of design might provide new insights into efficiency. Proceed, but with caution.

I just got into speedrunning...is this a good way to start? Seems a bit intimidating, but I'm super curious! Maybe I'll just watch you pros first.

Backward speedruns lol, sure let's all get a headache 🤣 Seriously tho, could be fun. Plus playing the older games after the newer might actually show just how much the gameplay evolved, or like, devolved in some cases. Gonna be trippy for sure 😵

This is such a dope idea haha! Imagine getting to the end going from Odyssey all the way to the OG Mario Bros. Imagine if stuff we learned in Odyssey suddenly makes an older game easier or something. Like, what if a move in Odyssey works on an old boss in a weird way? Count me in!

Challenging every norm of speedrunning just sounds like a blast! Starting with Odyssey and working your way back is not just gonna mess with your muscle memory, but also with how you perceive each games' mechanics. You might find shortcuts or tricks that no one has thought of before because you're kind of 'unlearning' the games. Totally hyped about this, gonna start routing this weekend!
