Project Update: Cataloguing '80s Commercials from Local TV Stations

Hey fellow lost media enthusiasts! Quick update on my project. Been reaching out to local TV stations for commercials that aired back in the '80s. Got access to some archives and the rabbit hole goes DEEP! Found ads that even the internet forgot. Lots of these have snippets or promos of TV shows that seemed to have vanished from history. Keeping a detailed spreadsheet. If you want in on this archival journey or specific commercials, hit me up.

So stoked to see this kind of work! If you find any commercials related to arcade games or retro tech, I'd be all over that. It's like a time machine back to the best decade. Keep it up, and please share the weirdest stuff you find, would make for an awesome watch party!

Honestly, why bother? Maybe they're lost because they were terrible. 😆 But for real, if you find any hilariously bad local business ads, drop 'em here for a laugh!

This is the content I'm here for! Love me some good ol' VHS-quality commercial treasure. Any jingles stuck in your head yet?

Amazing project! As someone in the ad industry, I find the evolution of marketing strategies fascinating. '80s commercials have this certain flair... so raw and experimental. If you've got any car dealership or local service ads, I'm super curious about the sales tactics.

This is gold! The intersection of media, advertising, and culture from the '80s is my PhD focus. Have you cataloged variations of commercials based on regional markets? It's a microcosm of sociocultural differences. I'd love to collaborate and contribute to academic papers with the findings. This could be incredibly valuable for media studies.

This is a monumental task you've taken on, hats off! It's fascinating how commercials can offer a glimpse into bygone eras, not to mention the shows that have fallen through the cracks of time. I've been compiling lost media from defunct production companies for years, and the thrill of discovery never gets old. Have you thought about reaching out to former station employees? They might have personal copies or recall unaired pilots and such. Keep up the great work!

Dude, this is like finding a time capsule filled with neon and leg warmers! If you stumble upon any old fast-food commercials or toy ads, I’m dying to see those. The cheesier, the better!
